COUNTLESS & LIGNOFUN are hosting a workshop at the Renewable Materials Conference

On 23 September 2026, as part of Workshop Day 2 at the Renewable Materials Conference 2026, the workshop “How to Turn Lignin Valorisation into Success” will take place from 11:20 to 11:55. It will be led by Sarah Refai and Peter Stoffels from CLIB – Cluster Industrial Biotechnology (Germany) and is hosted by the EU-funded projects COUNTLESS and LIGNOFUN.

The workshop explores pathways for lignin valorisation.

In a World Café format, participants will discuss how to match lignin feedstocks with suitable processing methods and identify promising applications for lignin-based intermediates.

The session will conclude with a joint reflection on future directions, challenges, and opportunities for advancing lignin-based solutions in sustainable materials and products.

Join the workshop and network with experts and stakeholders from the lignin value chain.

In addition to the workshop, COUNTLESS project partners will contribute to the conference programme with presentations on lignin valorisation.

Justine Charmillot from Bloom Biorenewables (Switzerland) will present “Preserving Nature’s Chemistry to Enable High-Performance Renewable Materials”, while Balaji Sridharan from VITO (Belgium) will give the presentation “Reductive Lignin Depolymerization: A Carbon Efficient Pathway towards Biomaterials and Green Chemicals”.
