Thomas Dezaire Presents at NCCC

On Tuesday, 3 March, Thomas Dezaire from our project partner Utrecht University gave a talk at the Netherlands Catalysis and Chemistry Conference (NCCC) in Noordwijkerhout, the Netherlands. He presented his work on using chemometrics to predict structural features of AAF lignin, Lignova, and depolymerized lignin oil (DLO) from infrared spectroscopy.

This structural information is highly relevant for lignin valorisation since it provides insight into the characteristics that determine how lignin can be efficiently converted into valuable chemicals and materials. However, it is traditionally obtained using expensive instruments and time-consuming methods. In this talk, Thomas showed how this type of information can instead be derived from infrared spectroscopy, a much faster and more accessible technique, for the lignin samples studied in the COUNTLESS project.

We would like to thank the conference organizers for the opportunity to present this work, and the COUNTLESS project partners for their continued collaboration and support.
