The demonstration plant of COUNTLESS will be located at our coordinator VITO in Mol, Belgium. On a site right next to a canal, and just a few km away from VITO’s main research centre, this site guarantees safety, material supply, and product flow. This pilot infrastructure is crucial to the project, and needed to be completed within the first 12 months of the project, in order to proceed with the experiments and scale-up.
After our kick.off meeting in Mol, where we could only imagine the plant, we have seen the location go from a bare concrete foundation to a functional pilot site. After months of hard work and coordination with numerous contractors:
- All construction work is finished.
- All environmental permits are secured.
- Commissioning is done!
Now, VITO is ready for starting full operation. We’re planning all units to operate with our operators and can’t wait to kick off the real experiments!
